My name is Johanna Cripps. I am a wildlife artist working in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. I’ve always had a love of nature and am constantly inspired by the birds and animals that live in the woodlands surrounding my cottage in the country.
As a child, all I ever wanted to do was to draw. I would always be doodling or sketching. Art has always been my first love and I am happiest when I am creating an artwork.
My medium of choice is pastels and colour pencils predominantly, but I also explore with oil pastels, acrylics and other mixed media. I am known for my highly detailed birds, animals and pet portraits, which allow me to capture their unique personalities and characteristics with stunning accuracy and detail.
I was encouraged in art throughout my early years and was awarded a Bachelors Degree in Interior and Spacial Design.
I am a member of Towcester Art Society and I am taking part in the Northants and Rutland Open Studios at Lamport Hall in September. I have exhibitions coming up later this year.
