Harris Ruth

Ruth is a local artist who had painted in this area for 30 years. She exhibits with local arts societies and art trails.

Ruth was awarded best pastel exhibit with Banbury Arts Society and ‘Best in Show’ in their final exhibition in 2016. In 2019 she received a ‘Highly Commended’ at South Northants Open Exhibition at the Hesleltine Gallery.

For 15 years she founded and chaired C.A.F.E., a charity promoting arts and music in care homes. The Charity received the Queen’s Award (M.B.E.) in 2016.

Recently two of her designs for stained glass windows were installed in the newly refurbished Brackley Town Hall.

Ruth lives in Brackley and finds artistic inspiration from the beautiful countryside, picturesque villages and market towns in the surrounding area. She works in variety of media: inks, gouache and acrylic but her favourite medium is pastel. Lately she has also experimented with textiles.
