Swan Caroline

Caroline Swan is a Towcester-based artist inspired by the places, people and landscapes of Northamptonshire.

Local scenes feature strongly in Caroline’s work, particularly Towcester and the surrounding countryside. She enjoys finding beauty in familiar places and has painted many of the town’s well-known landmarks, as well as quieter and less familiar views. Her work combines realism with a bold and expressive use of colour, creating paintings that are recognisable while capturing something of the atmosphere and character of a place.

Caroline also paints still life and florals in both acrylics and oils. She has also developed a distinctive bokeh style, creating atmospheric paintings using luminous layers of soft, out-of-focus circles of colour.

Caroline has been exhibiting locally since 2021 and regularly takes part in the Towcester Handmade Fayre. She is a member of South Northants Arts and Northants & Rutland Open Studios, and will be exhibiting at Silverstone Methodist Church as part of the NROS Art Trail from 19th to 27th September 2026.
